Randy Pausch, the author of the "Last Lecture", passes at age 47

Carnegie Mellon professor Randy Pausch (picture copyright The Pausch family collection) became well known after giving his speech the "Last Lecture" about facing a terminal illness and remaining joyful, happy, and full of life, even to the very end. I'm sure that most everyone out there has seen the video of his last lecture, but believe it bears repeating. His lecture reminds me of the Bible verses
"Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice." Philippians 4:4
"And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation." Psalm 35:9
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

I believe that Jesus wants us to have a joyful life and to rejoice in His blessings. Let us always remember to treat each breath we take, each day we live, as a gift from God, just one of the many blessings He has bestowed on us (even if physically things appear bad). Remember, our lives are like a tapestry that Jesus is creating with many different strands of beautiful colored threads - but we can't see the top of the tapestry; we only see the bottom - and what may look like a mess. However, from heaven's point of view, things are very different.

"He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." Deuteronomy 32:4

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:9
